Carmel Green Initiative is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to helping our community become more sustainable. We believe cities that prepare for ongoing energy and climate changes will prosper and enjoy a better quality of life. To that end, we keep “green” on the radar and empower citizens and community groups to make a difference in Carmel. Here are some ways you can help: volunteer, join, donate or support our fundraiser.

Volunteer

Join forces with others who are committed to a greener world. Use your skills and talents to lead projects, organize and publicize events, raise public awareness, and help with administrative activities. We need your help. • PLANT A TREE -  Get down and dirty! Assist with tree plantings in the spring and fall.  Read more.

• RECYCLING AMBASSADOR -  A great way to get involved over the summer is to be a Recycling Ambassador at one of Carmel's many outdoor events. Read more.

We are a coalition of citizens and business/community groups who promote and support the City of Carmel’s commitment to reduce our impact on the environment and meet the climate challenge. By joining, your support will help raise environmental awareness and protect our quality of life.  Click here to view membership application .

Why support Carmel Green Initiative? We are fiscally conservative and work very hard to limit our expenses. However, to remain sustainable, we need your financial support. Your contribution will enable CGI to continue "greening" our community. Currently, we are supporting city-wide recycling, providing network and education opportunities to green teams at our schools and congregations, and keeping you informed of green happenings around Carmel.
