Community Recycling Drives

On occasion, the City of Carmel, a local church, school or business, will host a Recycling Drive. These community recycling drives are listed below.  Many thanks to all who are making recycling more convenient in our community!

Recycle Event at St. Mark's     
Saturday, April 20, 2013  9:00am-1:00pm
126th and Grey Road, Carmel, Indiana

St. Mark’s is once again partnering with RecycleForce for an e-waste recycling event in honor of Earth Day. The RecycleForce truck will be in the church parking lot to collect your donations. RecycleForce asks a $10.00 donation for televisions, $5.00 for computer monitors and $20.00 for refrigerant-bearing items. Crime Stoppers Shred-It-Day
Saturday April 20, 2013
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Merchants Square (NW corner of Keystone Parkway & 116th St.) in the parking lot near Petco.

  • Free Electronics & Appliance Recycling ($5 charge for TVs & Monitors)
  • Document shredding ($5.00 for a bankers box size or equivalent). Proceeds benefit Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana.
  • Free Prescription Drug Disposal
  • Used Book Donation Drive for Indy Reads

This is a joint event with Carmel Utilities and CHS Carmel Area Roots & Shoots, DAO, Technology Recyclers, DEA and Indy Books.

Are you holding onto items because you don’t know where to recycle them? This event is for you! We’ve partnered with non-profit RecycleForce and My Sister’s Urban Recycle to help you, our community & the environment.

Accepted items:

• All Electronic Waste

(Anything with a cord - all computers and equipment*, game systems, TVs*, VCRs, DVD/ CD players, phone systems, power cables, surge protectors, electronic wiring and motors, microwaves, printers, scanners, satellite components, CDs, DVDs, floppy disks, thumb drives and more!)

• Rechargeable Batteries

• Paper, cardboard, phonebooks

• Bikes & accessories

• Cell Phones+

• Toner cartridges

• Plastics #1-7, Brita filters

• Wine Corks+

• Clothing (Clean, dry clothing in bags preferred. Fabric, textiles, worn out clothing (men’s, women’s & children’s), torn and stained clothing, seasonal clothing, shoes, purses, belts, hats, sewing supplies, yarn, art and craft supplies, office supplies, latex paint, sports and promotional banners.)

*RecycleForce would appreciate donations to offset the disposal cost of $5 for CRT Monitors, $10 for CRT TVs, $20 for items containing refrigerant.

The Clay Terrace Whole Foods Market stores have partnered with RecycleForce to help consumers, our community & the environment with Recycling Fairs.Accepted items:

- Paper, cardboard, phonebooks
- Bikes & accessories
- Shoes (like new/gently used)
- Cell Phones**
- Toner cartridges
- Plastics #1-7, Brita filters
- Wine Corks**
