Eat Sustainably

According to Worldwatch, our food travels an average of 2014_Artwork_for_Website_8_FOOD 1,500 to 2,500 miles from farm to table.

To live sustainably, we need to reduce 'food miles' and embedded carbon emissions associated with our food production.

There are many things we can do:

  • Purchase locally sourced produce at your grocery store
  • Shop at a local farmer's markets
  • Join a CSA
  • Buying organic helps reduce carbon emissions associated with the production of herbicides and pesticides.  (Saves petroleum)
  • And of course we can grow some of our own organic vegetables

And all of these things -- are healthier for us, food is fresher, more nutricious and taste better... as well as being good for the planet.  So it's a win-win.
