The scientific reports about environmental changes keep coming, with mounting evidence that is very concerning for public health and communities in the US and around the world.

A recent scientific report found that global carbon emissions have increased about 2% this year, after several years of staying steady.  The federal government is getting rid of several important climate rules and policies, and slashing budgets for agencies that monitor climate and the environment.  This all can be discouraging.  But there are constructive things happening at the local and state level across the country.  Businesses are also moving forward with positive programs.

Janet McCabe, Assistant Director for Policy and Implementation at IU’s new Environmental Resilience Institute, who worked at EPA from 2009-2017 on many of that agency’s climate and clean air programs, will discuss the many positive efforts underway in Indiana and nationally, and how you can get, or remain, engaged.

Jesse Kharbanda, Executive Director of the Hoosier Environmental  HEC_logoCouncil, will also give updates on what is happening at the Indiana State House this session.
