Going green is good for business and our community. Green business practices are proven to help reduce costs and can differentiate your business from your competition. Studies have shown that retail customers and corporate buyers prefer to buy from businesses that demonstrate environmentally conscious practices. According to Cone Communications 2011 research, consumers are making purchase decisions based on the brands' support of social and environmental issues, and believe companies must analyze and evolve their business practices to make their impact as positive as possible. In addition, according to Carbon Trust, businesses can attract and retain employees by involving them in green policies.
CGI would like to encourage Carmel area businesses and organizations to implement environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices.
The Green Business Committee will:
- provide Carmel area businesses with information regarding the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable business practices
- provide educational and networking opportunities on sustainable business practices
- investigate opportunities to promote the interests of Carmel businesses that are committed to and engaged in environmentally responsible operations and practices
Going Green Survey
The "Going Green" survey for businesses and organizations around Carmel hopes to capture your "green" thoughts when it comes to sustainability and help us understand your level of interest in “going green” so we may tailor our program to meet your needs. Your input will be valuable in the development of our Green Business Committee.
You may view the pdf or participate online. Survey results will be posted here - please stay tuned. Participants and businesses will remain confidential.
